nepallifeinsurance.com was built out of a simple frustration — finding honest, independent information about life insurance in Nepal is surprisingly hard.

Most insurance websites in Nepal are owned by insurance companies promoting their own products. Most agents are contractually tied to a single company. And most of the general content online is either outdated, incomplete, or written for a different market entirely.

We built this site to be different — the independent resource we wished existed when we were trying to understand Nepal’s insurance market ourselves.

What We Do

nepallifeinsurance.com is Nepal’s only independent platform where you can compare all 14 NIA-licensed life insurers — no agent commission, no preferred insurer, data sourced directly from NIA filings. We build free tools — a premium calculator and a side-by-side plan comparison table — that let any Nepali family compare their options without calling a single agent or sitting through a sales presentation.

We write plain-language guides in English, sourced from Nepal Beema Pradhikaran’s official annual reports, company filings, and regulatory publications. When we estimate premium figures, we say so clearly. When we use verified data, we say where it came from.

We are not affiliated with any insurance company. We do not have a preferred insurer. We do not earn commission on policies sold. Our only goal is to help Nepali families make more informed decisions about one of the most important financial products they will ever buy.

The Person Behind This Site

Why I Built NepalLifeInsurance.com

I spent over 20 years building complex systems in Fintech and Healthcare. When it came time to choose a simple life insurance policy for my own family, I found myself stuck. I sat through hours of sales pitches and looked at dozens of brochures, but I couldn’t find a single place that gave me the unbiased truth. Every agent had a “favourite” company, and every company claimed to be the best.

Those two decades in data systems had taught me one thing: when the numbers are clean and the incentives are disclosed, people make better decisions. I realised Nepali families didn’t need more salesmen — they needed a system. A way to see the facts, compare the numbers, and make a decision based on logic, not pressure. So I built the tools first, and the content to support them.
